  • Hey there my belief is it has to do with the Gutenberg core push and the page builder your using vs composer – which is now wp bakery.

There is a thread here about 4.9.8 and gutenberg editor/page builders not playing nice with yoast.
I believe all the Yoast team is currently drinking monsters and coding like the rest of use plug in developers are. 4.9.8 has been dousy!

How can I solve? It is a serious mistake.

I do not have the possibility to insert titles and descriptions seo.

I am experiencing the same problem since updating the Yoast plugin. Here is my workaround for the moment.

Type the data you plan to place in the fields into another place, such as Notepad. Next copy the data for one of the fields to the clipboard. Depending on the data you placed in the clipboard, click on the meta title or description under “Snippet Preview” then press CTRL+V on your keyboard. Repeat for the second field, if necessary.

I don’t know if there is a way to rollback the Yoast plugin in WordPress, but you can download a ZIP file of an older version of Yoast and manually overwrite the the yoast_seo folder and it’s contents in the plugins directory in the filesystem. Anyways, rolling Yoast back to an older version should take care of the problem for now until Yoast releases an update patching the bug.

My Yoast was behaving just fine under the latest version of WordPress until I chose to update plugins through the WP Dashboard.

    Hey @fabriziofru,

Did you encounter this issue after updating? Your screenshot does not seem to reflect the same issue as the one mentioned by @jeremiah01292, which has been reported here.

It does seem like a plugin conflict, but not the same issue as the one with Gutenberg and Classic Editor. Can you try and gather as much information for us as possible? Please perform the following:

    1. Check for conflicts.
    2. Check for JavaScript errors with your console.

If you find any JavaScript errors related to Yoast SEO or if there is a conflict with a plugin or a theme, you can create a new GitHub issue for our developers.

@mitchellalerts if you want to downgrade Yoast SEO, you can do using WP Rollback.
