I have sportspress installed and running. I just found a few issues. First, I have the event block widget installed. I want to show the most recent game results. It shows events on my site, but when you click the event, it gets a 404. I checked the admin panel and the link that it lists for my events do not work. All get 404.

Also, I see that the game results do not show up correctly. For example, it shows the team names and scores in the incorrect order. It should be Away team vs Home Team, and the score to match. I think it should also indicate Win or Loss. I have tried changing the team name order in the event, but it doesn’t seem to make it show up correctly or in the right order.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

Actually, a better link to see all events would be: https://musselmanfootball.com/game-schedule/

    Hi @djtech2k,

Most of the times this type of error occurs from two reasons:

    1) Incorrect Permalinks settings. To fix please go to Settings->Permalinks and click save to clear Permalinks cache.

    2) Plugin conflicts with other plugins. Please disable ALL your plugins except SportsPress and check if the problem is resolved. If yes, then activate one by one the other plugins until you identify which one cause the conflict. Usually some Event Scheduling plugins have this behavior. I see that you have Event Calendar WD installed. If you really want to use it then to avoid conflicts you should go to Settings->Permalinks and change the Events permalink from event to match, or something similar for your sport. https://snag.gy/3CPBlH.jpg

    Thanks,

    Thanks.

I went down that list and when I changed the permalink to “game”, it started to work. I do have another question. If you look at my schedule page and hover over each event, you will see the event URL is very different for some. Why would the URL’s be so different? For example, many are like “/game/137” while others are “/game/team-vs-otherteam”. My permalinks are set to postname.

    Hi @djtech2k,

I am glad you solved your issue.

Usually the imported events have the url format of /event/123 (where 123 is the unique post_id of the event) and the manually created events the format of /event/team-vs-team.

    Thanks,
    Savvas

    Thanks. That makes sense.

Now for the widget, why is it showing the score and teams in the wrong order? For example if will show the home team first, when it should always be last. It will also show the score in reverse order. Either way is fine, but I at least need the scores to show up in the correct order. As it is now, it makes it look like the team lost games that it actually won.

    Hi @djtech2k,

It is better for each issue to open a new topic. Otherwise it will be impossible for users with similar issues to search for a solution.

Anyway, I will make a guess about the “reverse order” issue you have. When you created the “Musselman Applemen vs Princeton Senior” event you didn’t have the Reverse Order option selected (https://snag.gy/2SNhv4.jpg). The title of the event was auto-created and it was set as “Princeton Senior vs Musselman Applemen”. After you enable the Reverse Order option, but the event title was not updated. If that’s the issue, then you should clear the Event Title and hit UPDATE to be auto-created again in the correct order.

    Thanks,
    Savvas
