The site is mercyhouse.org. In June, we changed hosting services because of problems. One of the problems with the service included SSL problem. The hosting service migrated the site for us. They said they migrated it just as it was.

The WordPress site address and the site address in the settings>general settings say: https://mercyhouse.org.

When I type that address in, and click on the pages in the menu from left to right, they do not display https. When I get to the Online Giving page, it displays https and the padlock. Once I click on that page, if I move to another page, it says https.

    This is confusing.

I need to add new pages to the site and I’m not sure what will happen. One of the pages is a page that will link to a payment gateway so I want it to be secure.

I’m not sure what to do.

    Thank you
    Janis

  • Hi Janis,

Scrolling through your menu links, it looks like ‘online giving’ is the only menu link that you set as https. This can be changed in Appearance –> Menus .

Also make sure that your logo link is pointed to the https as well.

And when you go to your Settings –> General –> make sure your WordPress address and Site address are both in https.

Thank you for your response. I understand how the site was set up now. All of the pages are actually http. There is a plugin that forces certain pages to be https.

I’m just confused as to why pages would display https only after I click on a payment page. Maybe it’s the plugin doing that.

    Thank you very much.
