• Hi,
I want to demo the theme but it’s not importing the demo content. I clicked on your Beauty demo, it started to import but wont go past 43% with error “forbidden”

Uninstalled and reinstalled, deactivated all my plugins and still stuck on 43%.

After changing permissions to wp-content to 777 that same problem.

    I have hosting on OVH.

  • Hi,

Is your domain running on HTTPS? If not, please try this plugin to help enabling it. Then try re-importing the demo once HTTPS is enabled. Let me know how it goes.

    Hello,

    My domain is using HTTPS.

    Hi,

    Thank you for getting back.

To get to know what is blocking your site from importing the Botiga demos, please check your site’s Site Health under Tools menu > Site Health or visit yoursite[.]com/wp-admin/site-health.php. Ensure everything is fine and there is no error shown there.

    Hi,

    There isn’t any error.

Which version of WordPress, Botiga theme, and aThemes Starter Sites plugin are you using? Are they the latest?

    Thread Starter christianowordpress

    (@christianowordpress)

    Wordpress: 5.9.3
    Botiga theme: 1.1.2
    aThemes Starter Sites: 1.0.18

This is happening to me, too. Right at 43% it stops installing!

Okay, I messed around some more, deleted pages from a previous demo install, unchecked the box to install WP forms plugin (in the popup for what content to install), and initiated the installation from Appearance > Starter sites > Preview Demo, and then clicked the import button at the top right, and it worked!

Hopefully this will help someone else stuck at 43%. ??

    Hi @christianowordpress & @craftwhack,

We suspected that particular type of web hosting is being blocked fro our demo import process due to security protection.

For now, due to web hosting related issue, please try to do manual import with these steps:

    1. Download the import files through this link
    2. Install the Customize importer plugin.
    3. Install the widgets importer plugin.
    4. Install the Elementor plugin.
    5. Install Sydney Toolbox plugin.
    6. Go to Dashboard > Tools > Import and look WordPress. Click in the link to install the WordPress Importer, and once the plugin is installed, click Run Importer. Upload the “content.xml” from demo files (check the option to import attachments).
    7. Go to Dashboard > Appearance > Customize > Export/Import and import the “customize.dat” file (check to download images).
    8. Go to Dashboard > Tools > Widget Importer & Exporter and import the “widgets.wie” file.
    9. Go to Dashboard > Settings > Reading >
Your homepage displays and select “a static page”. For the “Homepage” option select “My front page”, and for the “Posts Page” option select “My blog page”.
    10. Go to Appearance > Menus and select the “Main Menu”. Then, check it as “Primary Menu” in the Menu settings.

    Hope that helps.

    Hi @kharisblank

    I’m in point 6

Go to Dashboard > Tools > Import and look WordPress. Click in the link to install the WordPress Importer, and once the plugin is installed, click Run Importer. Upload the “content.xml” from demo files (check the option to import attachments).

    Got three errors:

Failed to import “Sidebar form”: Invalid post type mc4wp-form
Failed to import “”: Invalid post type customjs
Failed to import “Contact Us”: Invalid post type wpcf7_contact_form

I installed Contact Form 7 and MC4WP: Mailchimp for WordPress and two of errors disappeared, but I don’t know which one plugin I have to install to repair “Failed to import “”: Invalid post type customjs ” error.

    Hi @christianowordpress,

…I don’t know which one plugin I have to install to repair “Failed to import “”: Invalid post type customjs ” error.

That’s a bug from my end. But, you don’t need to worry for this error. It doesn’t give any effect to the entire imported demo content.

We’ve removed the bug from the content.xml and here is the updated file.

    Hi!
I get the same issue. I am on a multisite if that makes any difference.

    1) blocked at 43%
    2) followed instruction, imported the XML with some errors, “fine”

    Failed to import Media “Slider_image”
    Failed to import Media “testimonials_bg”
    Failed to import Media “team_1”
    Failed to import Media “team_2”
    Failed to import Media “team_3”
    Failed to import Media “team_1@2x”
    Failed to import Media “team_2@2x”
    Failed to import Media “team_3@2x”
    Failed to import Media “post_1@2x”
    Failed to import Media “post_2@2x”
    Failed to import Media “post_3@2x”
    Failed to import Media “gal_1”
    Failed to import Media “gal_2”
    Failed to import Media “gal_3”
    Failed to import Media “gal_4”
    Failed to import Media “gal_5”`
    Failed to import Media “Sydney_logo”
    Failed to import Media “Slider_image”
    Failed to import Media “Sydney_logo-1”
    Failed to import Media “Slider_image-1”
Failed to import “”: Invalid post type customjs
Failed to import “Contact Us”: Invalid post type wpcf7_contact_form

    3) for the customizer.dat I get “Error importing settings! The settings you uploaded are not for the current theme.” which is sort of weird because it is bodega

Any help will be greatly apreciated ??

Any update on this? I have the same issue as @beankylla.
When I used the botiga-content.xml, I ended up with some IT service home page. Not the Beauty home page I was expecting.

If there’s no solution for this, is there a way to get the page elements for the home, like gutemberg blocks or whatever?

    Thanks

@predajob sorry for the trouble with the manual import process. That was aimed for Sydney theme.

Try removing all imported data you are having with Bulk Delete plugin. Ensure to delete your important content while using this plugin. Maybe you should do a full site backup before doing so for data security reason.

Manual import for Beauty demo site of Botiga theme:

    Required plugins to install:

After those plugins installed and activated, do these steps:

    1. Download the demo data from this link and unzip it to your local drive (computer) to get the files to import
    2. Import botiga-dc-beauty.xml from dashboard > Tools menu > Import  > WordPress
    3. Import botiga-w-beauty.wie from dashboard > Tools menu > Widget Importer & Exporter and import
    4. Import botiga-c-beauty.dat from dashboard > Appearance menu > Customize > Export/Import
    5. Configure your site’s static front page and blog page from dashboard > Settings menu > Readings
    6. Configure your site’s main menu from dashboard > Appearance > Menus

    Hope this reply helps.

    Hi @kharisblank ,

There is no content for the pages on botiga-dc-beauty.xml file! So when i import, i get blank pages.

Also, after I import the widgets, I get multiple errors in the widget page saying “the block was affected by errors and may not function properly. Check the developer tools”

I don’t need all the starter content to be honest, i just want to replicate the homepage you have. Is there a way to get only the block structure used on your homepage and maybe also the Contact page ?

    Thanks.
