Problem with importing images

I’m just in the process of switching from wordpress.com to .org and am having problems with importing images across. I have some, but not all – I have a mix of older and newer images that have imported correctly so I don’t think it’s a file name issue.

I have tried these things:

https://github.com/VR51/Import-External-Images-2 (I think this is more for linking images to urls in posts once they’re actually transferred)

Apologies if this is the wrong forum but nobody appears to be helping/answering on the wordpress importer forum. It appears that I am stuck with a plugin that doesn’t work and the only option will be for me to manually import my images and go through all my posts putting them in. But I’d rather not!!
