    I have created the database as per the handy instructions and when I try and go to https://127.0.0.1/blog/wp-admin/install.php I recieve the following error.

    >

    ‘.__(‘Already Installed’).’

    ‘.__(‘You appear to have already installed WordPress. To reinstall please clear your old database tables first.’).’
    ‘);} switch($step) { case 0: case 1: // in case people are directly linking to this display_header(); ?>

(int) $_POST[‘blog_public’] : 0; // check e-mail address $error = false; if (empty($admin_email)) { // TODO: poka-yoke display_setup_form( __(‘you must provide an e-mail address.’) ); $error = true; } else if (!is_email($admin_email)) { // TODO: poka-yoke display_setup_form( __(‘that isn’t a valid e-mail address. E-mail addresses look like: [email protected]’) ); $error = true; } if ( $error === false ) { $wpdb->show_errors(); $result = wp_install($weblog_title, ‘admin’, $admin_email, $public); extract($result, EXTR_SKIP); ?>

    admin
    ‘. $password .’
    ‘; } echo ‘

    ‘. $password_message .’
    ‘; ?>

  • PHP isn’t being parsed properly. Centos is a linux flavor so I’m assuming the actual web-server is Apache. If so, look into the the DirectoryIndex directive. You should have, in your httpd.conf, a line that reads DirectoryIndex index.php index.html but by default it does not have the index.php in it.

    apljdi,

    Thanks for the reply I created a test.php file and ran it and phpinfo showed PHP is working. I also double checked the directive and all that info for index.php was in there.

    Any other suggestions?

    Thanks again

    Maybe you just have a corrupt file. Have you tried installing clean copies from a new download?

    Also make sure you have LoadModule dir_module lib/httpd/modules/mod_dir.so in your httpd.conf (path may be different), and make sure you actually do have that module on the system.
