    Hi,

We keep getting an error after activating Jetpack and clicking ‘Set up Jetpack’: ‘An error occurred. Please try again.’ We have troubleshooted with default, updated theme and no additional plugins and still get this error. I believe it’s related to Jetpack ignoring the SiteURL and taking the domain URL instead.

My first thought after reading the Jetpack support documentation was it was to do with the xmlprc file location as our installation is set up under https://www.exampledomain.com/wp/ rather than under the standard https://www.exampledomain.com/

But after speaking to our web host support they said:
“The installation and xmlprc files are in the correct place with the WordPress core files in the /wp directory. There is a sim-link to wp-content in that folder and the SiteURL specifies that /wp, but Jetpack will be taking the domain name only and looking for it there, ignoring the SiteURL of the website.

I have seen this behaviour before, you will need to ask Jetpack for the specific fix for this and if there any steps you need assistance with after on our end I will be happy to help.”

Can you help with this? Thank you
