• Hello,

I have a problem. When two teams in the league table have the same number of points, is it possible to order them by direct match and put the winner up?

I’m not able to do it although it is popular solution in league games.

    Thanks.

    Hi!

    Thanks for reaching out.

This is a feature since 2.2
    https://www.themeboy.com/blog/sportspress-2-2-update-bulk-actions-head-head-tiebreakers/

It’s called head to head tiebreakers. You can use the direct matchup as your last ordering criterion.

    Thanks!

Thanks, I’ve missed this settings, but unfortunately something is wrong in my case..

I’ve enabled Tiebreaker (head to head) option, but can’t see any additional option in table column configuration: https://prnt.sc/o7tt5n

    Hi!

    Thanks for your reply!

Once you enable it, it’ll be used as your last ordering criterion. There is no table column for it.

If it isn’t working for your league table, please kindly check if you have set the event results criteria (such as goals) as your primary. This is an example for soccer:
    https://prntscr.com/o7vypg

This should be enough to show SportsPress which team won.

    Thanks!

    Hi,

I’m not sure what else can be wrong..

Goals are set in the event results criteria: https://prnt.sc/o83ec1
Here you can see the league table: https://lfsportevents.pl/ligaorlika/table/tabela-ii-liga/

and the direct match between team number 5 and number 6:
    https://lfsportevents.pl/ligaorlika/event/mariposa-med-spa-bastek-niskowa/
unfortunately the order is not correct.

    Hi!

    Thanks for your reply.

That seems to be fine indeed. What happens when you switch to Rookie or Twenty Seventeen?

Maybe it’s a theme-related issue. Also, it’s worth checking how it works with other plugins disabled.

    Thanks!

    Hi,

It’s Rookie theme ?? with custom modifications, i’ve also switched to Twenty Seventeen with all plugins (except SportsPress and SportsPress for Football) disabled and unfortunately still no luck.

Do you have any other idea? thanks.

    Hi!

    Thanks for testing!

That’s odd. Let me tag our dev team so they can check as well.

@savvas do you have any ideas of what could cause this?

His setup seems to be fine.

    Thanks!

    Hi @kuperman87,

Have you set your ordering criteria correctly? For example look this screenshot: https://snag.gy/CdP7KF.jpg

@brianmiyaji explained at the following post exactly how the H2H works:

    Hi @rochesterj and @savvasha,

Thanks, I’ve checked @brianmiyaji post and think I understood.
I’ve removed other ordering criteria: https://prnt.sc/odb91l and H2H works fine, but unfortunately it’s not perfect solution.

We have a league with two rounds (match and rematch) and I think it’s common situation, so we have for example two teams with equal points, and draw in H2H matches (match and rematch), now we should use next ordering criteria like Goals difference and Goals for, which are disabled…

Is it possible to use H2H as a second order criteria, without disabling Goals difference and Goals for?

    Thanks,
    Piotr

    Hi @kuperman87 ,

Usually the ordering criteria of a League Table are used for H2H calculation. H2H is not another sorting criteria. It should be the last (or should I say, least) criteria you are using to order your teams. Ofcourse there are some edge cases (if everything is a tie, also in H2H, then what?) In those cases you can use a “dummy/hidden” performance which you will manually enter the correct ordering numbers and order by it.

    Thanks,
    Savvas

    Hi @savvasha,

    Thanks for the answer.

I’m not sure if we understand each other ??

    Example situation:
Real Madrid and FC Barcelona have the same amount of points, then the tie is broken through:

    1. Head-to-head points between tied teams
    2. Head-to-head goal difference between tied teams
    3. Goal difference

So the Head to Head is taken as second lever criteria, if the H2H was a draw without any goal we need to check entire goal difference, but in my case it’s not possible – because if I want to H2H work properly I have to disable goal difference ordering..

So H2H should have higher priority than i.e. Goal difference, but in the SportsPress the H2H work only if Goal difference is the same (or disabled)
    I hope you understand me?

It’s not only in La Liga, similar counting is used in Serie A, Champions League etc..

    Thanks,
    Piotr

    Hi @kuperman87 ,

I think that I got what you are trying to say. Unfortunately, this is how SportsPress works right now. It should be more flexible, I agree with you. Please share this idea to our Ideaboard for further discussing and upvoting. In the meantime I will pass it to our Developer Team.

    Thanks,

    Hi,

    Thanks @savvasha,

I’ve just found similar idea already published.
    https://sportspress.uservoice.com/forums/285525-ideaboard/suggestions/37876591-head-2-head-as-sorting-criteria

I hope you’ll improve this great feature soon. Thanks for all.

    (@rochesterj)

    That’s even better! ??

    Thanks for sharing it
