Problem with link containing “add-to-cart”

  • Hi!
    My problem is that when I add links containing “add to cart” to an external landing page, such as:
    https://www.medialna.eu/koszyk/?add-to-cart=3320
    https://www.medialna.eu/?add-to-cart=3320
    https://www.medialna.eu/koszyk/?add-to-cart=3351
    https://www.medialna.eu/?add-to-cart=3351
    sometimes they work and sometimes they don’t.

    Sometimes the product is added to the cart, sometimes it is added but it redirects to the home page, and sometimes the cart page pops up saying “the cart is empty”.

    I am asking for help because this has a very negative impact on our sales.

    Do you mean this issue happen when you click on add to cart on pages that are not the product page?

    Or when you add a product to another page via shortcode, for example?

    When you click on one of the 4 links I pasted in the message, is the product normally added to your cart?

    I very often create landing pages in external applications and to shorten the purchase path, I add a button with a link containing “add-to-card” (like these 4 links above). This method has always worked flawlessly, but on this website there is a huge problem with it.

    I went ahead with testing all 4 URLs provided above, and it worked every time on my end.

    Note: the 1st, 3rd, and 4th, of the URLs shared, point to different products than the ones the human eye reads.

    Hi @anastas10s

    The problem is that these links sometimes work and sometimes they don’t. Usually, when one user clicks it repeatedly, it stops working and redirects to the home page. Why is this happening? I can’t afford for the sales page to work sometimes and sometimes not.

    The screenshots you shared are not loading. I recommend using https://snipboard.io. You can share the direct link to the image as a response to this topic.

    I checked the links and here’s what happens on my end:

    If I click on the links while having an empty cart, it always adds a product to the cart and shows it.

    The first link adds the following:

    The next three links add the following:

    If the product is already added to the cart, the first three links will show an error:

    And the last link, will show the homepage.

    Can you please confirm if this is the behavior you are seeing on your end too?

    Do you mind sharing more information about the products with us?

    Do you have any plugin or custom code to prevent users from buying more than one unit of the product?
    Is the product added via the default WooCommerce interface, or have you used a plugin or something else to add it?
