• I have been trying to get the new version set up and running. I want to set up a network of blogs and use these plugins across that network and would like to have all of the plugins in a central folder. However when I load plugins into the mu-plugin folder many of them do not work. But if I move that non working plugin to the regular plugin folder it works… I think the main issue is not being able to access the muplugin folder from the blog as you can the plugin folder, this is a real problem. The other issue is when you load the plugins manually you don’t know what in the file is required to make that plugin work.

Not every plugin can work in mu-plugins.

Just put them in regular plugins and use Network Activate. Though keep in mind, not every plugin works that way either.

You are using WordPress 3.0 for this?

If the plugin does not work in the mu-plugin folder it may not support WordPress MU or WordPress 3.0 Networks…

    2 options:

    1. In WordPress 3.0 in order to allow other users to have plugins do this,

Put the plugins in either the mu-plugins or plugins folder (which ever, but if they do not work in the mu folder use the main plugin folder)

Then “network activate” the plugins you want the whole network to have access to from your dashboard.

Then go into “supper admin” -> “options” at the very bottom of the page uncheck plugins and save settings

Users will no longer have access to plugins..

    2. Use this plugin to select the plugins you want to show or hide for the network users
