Hello, since a few days I’ve found some missing menu and sub-benu voices. I tried disabling all the categories and themes and reverting back to the original brand new installation and the plug in causing problem is the qtranslator-X.

Basically it removes some category voices from the menu and it won’t let me add new elements to the menu from the appearance admin panel. I’ve been working on a fix all day but nothing worked so far.
I had to change all the categories from the menu into custom links and now some of them are working and some are not.
I tried changing the plugin files to the older version when the problem wasn’t there but it still doesn’t work so I updated it to the latest version.

Here are some screenshots of the various phases of the error.

Menu from the admin panel with all the voices how they should be:

This is what I saw after reinstalling the theme and switching off the plugins

And this is what I saw after trying to add and modify voices from the menu

After changing deactivating all the plug ins and the theme, I’ve changed all the voices of the menu from category to custom links and then reactivate the theme and the plug ins again. Then I tried to leave some of the voices into categories and this is what I see now.

As you can see from this close up from the admin panel ( https://i.imgur.com/ryoPS3C.jpg ) some of the voices are still missing.

This is the url of my website: https://www.gacktitalia.com

I really need the navigation to work fully or the site won’t be surfable by my viewers so it’s kind of urgent.
    Waiting to hear from you.

  • Thanks for coming back Gunu!
I’m not sure what you mean now … I checked the *titels* of all items to be sure that they all translations are present. The content is a different story though: some posts have content only in one language …

And again I don’t get why the entire *category* (which I’ve checked as well) isn’t showing. The posts are just sub-items of the different categories in the menu …

Quite confusing I have to admit ??

    @wimmerstefan

how many menu entries you have in total?

You need to increase the max_input_vars?

If so, sure that this works?

@gunu: I have 28 entries of which 3 categories + subitems that don’t show up. As I mentioned already I’ve played around with max_input_vars in both .user.ini and php.ini to no avail …

already I’ve played around with max_input_vars

you have put the value also extra low to see if it is effective?

Nope – that I didn’t since I got convinced it has no effect at all … I’ll see when I can get to it to check that as well.

@gunu: I finally found the time to play around with max_input_vars and it is effective if I set it to a low value … but setting it to 4800 the categories are still not back.

Sorry for the bad news :-/

thanks to the support of @ilumuoti (thank you!)

Open one by one all of your categories and re-save them (update)

The problem of too many menu items has nothing to do with this.

Right you are! That solved my problem ??
Thanks a lot for all the patience!

I had this same issue. I have found that installing Qtranslate Slug plugin (https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/qtranslate-slug/) fixed it and all the links where appearing again. After installing the Qtranslate Slug plugin go to the categories and add the slugs again. Hope this helps.

    Thanks,

I go through whole conversion figure out to solution by —

Open Menu relevant categories and re-save it again solves the issue.
