• Hi, All

I’m setting up https://www.johnnysaturn.com, and I’m using WordPress 2.5.1 and the Comicpress Theme.

Anyway, when I set it up, menu on the side and the repeat of it on the top menu bar only showed the parent pages. When you went to a page with child pages, then they were there, indented under the parent page listing. That was great, and I was happy.

Then something screwed up. Now, no matter what page you are on, the parent and child page links show up in the side menu and the top menu. This wouldn’t be the end of the world, but I plan to add more child pages, especially when I install the shopping cart system.

I went to the comicpress forums, and I’ve been met with uncharacteristic silence. Can anyone help me out with this delimna?

    Thanks! Scott.

    Bump!

by the way, someone asked me if I made the links with the page widget, but I didn’t. I created the pages by going to Write, then selecting Pages.

That’s not what he meant. in wp-admin click on the Design menu then select widgets. Check if the sidebar is using widgets or not. If not try adding the pages widget and see if you can congifure the pages you want to appear and add any other widgets you want to use etc.

No, I didn’t understand what he meant.

I just did this, putting a widget in the right hand column with the exclusions. It didn’t work, and it made all the other stuff in the right hand column disappear.

I’ve already tried to erase the whole site and reload it, but it came back just the same. I didn’t realize that with a database that it would all be save that way too.

At this point, I may be down to wiping that database, wiping the whole site out, and reinstalling from ground up. Wits end is fast approaching.

This menu problem apparantly began when I uninstalled it. Now that I’ve put it back on, everything is functioning the way it should again. The trouble is, it’s not exactly the shopping cart that I need, because I wanted one that would figure shipping by zip code.

If anyone can figure just what this plugin did, I’ll be glad to post its code so you can look. I’d like to take it off, AND keep the navigation links/menu bar nice and compact.
