• I apologize in advance if this issue has already been addressed/resolved, but a search of the forums wasn’t productive for me.

At any rate, the issue I’m having is this: I’m currently running a blog with two users; one set to the admin level and the other set to the author level. I’d like to add more users, but every time I’ve tried to add more users, I’m unable to post to my blog from the admin account (my account). If I attempt to post, the “post author” tab under the advanced options for the entry only shows two users, neither of which is my admin username. I’d like to be able to add more users to my blog and still be able to use my admin account to post entries as well.

Additionally, I’d note I have this problem no matter what user level I set the new users to. I’ve tried setting them as contributors, authors, and editors to test and see if that would resolve the issue, but nothing’s worked.

I’m running WordPress 2.6.2 and the url to my site is https://www.blogginblue.com

  • Could you mean https://www.bloginblue.com ?
    1. It happened once and simple solution was to change design to default theme, go to site and go back to Admin, check if your Admin username is there is write post. Now it’s working go back to change design to custom theme. Don’t ask me how it worked, it did with me.
    2. While you’re there, you might like to clean up your posts, like deleting the extraneous codes below. Only copy and paste text from plain text file – notepad/bbedit
    <span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: 12px;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: rgb(157, 35, 60); font-family: Verdana; font-weight: bold; "> </span>

I had this issue when the admin didn’t appear in the drop-down list. I think I resolved it by going to users in the dashboard (using admin account), edit admin account, click save (I didn’t actually change anything in the admin account). This seemed to work for me.

I actually tried the solutions both mercime and mojorob mentioned, and neither resolved my problem.

Have you tried to set the other user to Editor so you would be the only Admin? Do you have Role Manager installed in your installation?

I’ve tried what you suggested mercime, and that doesn’t work.

I don’t have role manager installed.

I’ve also run some tests with my other blog, and I’ve been able to add as many users as I’d like without sacrificing the ability to post from my admin account.

Could it be a database issue?
