• I have a website (theshedcenter.com) and I wanted to create a multisite. I added the code to the config.php file and then added a subdomain *.theshedcenter.com. Then I went to my dashboard and the Network setting and place the codes given into the appropriate files. I wanted to use and had to use subdomains. Then I create the site in the Network settings. Theshedcenter.com is still working fine, but Oregon.shedcenter.org ends up at an empty directory. Any suggestions?

  • Something created a subdirectory for that subdomain… probably when you told the Control Panel about the new subdomain. If you’ll now point the subdomain in the Control Panel to the root directory where the WordPress install is located that will probably fix things but you might need to delete that subdirectory, too.

Be careful though before considering deleting that subdirectory as the CP needs something to anchor that subdomain to and deleting the wrong subdirectory might kill the subdomain. If you can make it work then leave it unless it really breaks something or confuses things too much.

I am not sure about all that you said. I did redirect my *.theshedcenter.com to my root directory where my WP install is that did not solve the problem. I also tried deleting the subdirectory but that made it so no site could be found. I am still just seeing an empty subdomain directory.
