My site has been updated with the new version of woocommerce but the site no longer works, there is a compatibility problem. My website stopped working, I lost customers because of it. I had to go back to the old version before my site started working again. Can you review this because there are a lot of people who are having this problem and it was a friend who helped me solve this problem

  • Hey there, @bentaurins! Thanks for contacting us. I’m happy to help you.

Can you please confirm if the issue you had was this one?

If it was, we have implemented a temporary fix that prevents the fatal error from occurring (#48593). However, this does not address the root cause of why deleted files continue to appear on servers.

We are actively investigating the root cause in order to implement a permanent resolution to this issue.?

But you should be able to update it again to 9.0 without the issue.

If this was not the issue you faced, can you please share more details about what happened, what kind of error message you got, and any other detail you find relevant, so we can investigate this further?

    Looking forward to your reply.

    Have a wonderful day!

@bentaurins, would you be happy to share your system status report and, if you don’t mind, could you let us know who your web host is? If the problem was indeed this one, then we’re also quite puzzled by it, so further information like this could be really helpful.

It is hard for casual users to ascertain if the issue is as per: https://developer.woocommerce.com/2024/06/19/developer-advisory-legacy-rest-api-error-in-woocommerce-9-0/

Simply put the error in 9.0.0 just causes as “Critical Error” on sites. Without any other “helpful” info or hints.

Only trail eventually points back to an issue with WC 9.0.0.

It seems, only suposition, that auto updates enabled might not have worked properly as a delete and re-install seems to fix the issue. I have tried this on several sites.

    BUT…..

It seems the delete option in the dashboard gets greyed out unless a user renames the WC folder in the plugins folder on the server.

It is depressing the Automattic can get into this situation on an update. Please trial and test better on .0.0 releases!

    Yes, I agree.

To be clear, I’m not asking @bentaurins or anyone else to verify they have this exact error, I’m just polling for additional information as we scan for patterns.

I understand your view, here, but please also see my reply over here.
