Problem with “Open link in new tab”

    Wordpress 5.1.1
    Theme Spacious 1.6.2
    WP-Image 1.32.1
    Chrome and Firefox browsers

    WP-Image works fine to magnify an image.

    When the image is linked to the media file AND “Open link in a new tab” is checked off: when the image is clicked, I expected to see a new tab with the image displayed. What I get is TWO tabs with the image displayed.
