Problem with permalinks

  • I’m trying to change my permalinks to basically anything that is differant from the default. If I select any of the already listed ones like:

    wordpress/2008/08/11/sample-post/
    wordpress/2008/08/sample-post/

    I just get the 404 error saying:

    Not Found

    The requested URL /testerblog/wordpress/2008/08/08/this-is-a-tester-blog-post/ was not found on this server.

    My blog is on a home server so I can’t link the address. Is there anything else I need to do to get them working? I’m rather noob at wordpress ??

  • “Noobies” should start with reading the documentation: Using_Permalinks… and no, we do not offer support for server setup for your local machine.

    I have already read the page you sent and I don’t think it helped. But as your not being very helpful i’ll probs have more luck googling it
