problem with permalinks with facebook share

  • I’ve been using the “ugly” link for quite some time and only switched to the “pretty” permalinks yesterday.
    Sometimes I like to share some of my posts with friends on facebook by using the “add link” on the write column and it will show up an excerpt and let you choose a thumbnail to go with the post.

    However, since I’ve converted to permanlink, facebook link can’t detect the post neither the thumbnail anymore and will only just put a simple url of my blog home address.

    I am pretty sure the .htaccess is working since all my posts are now in “pretty” permanlinks format.

    Anyone has the same issue? or know how to fix it?

    I think i found the solution. According to facebook you needs these on your posts:

    In order to generate a Share preview successfully, a website must include the following three meta tags in its source HTML:

    <meta name=”title” content=”Article headline here” />
    <meta name=”description” content=”Article summary here” />
    <link rel=”image_src” href=”https://www.example.com&#8221; />

    Now why it used to work if you never had this info? i have no idea. maybe they recently changed their policies. but you can easliy add this info via custom fields in every post.
