• Working for a news organisation, we’re exploring using the Image and Media Byline Credits plugin to address the (rather tragic) lack of native WordPress support for photo bylines (as such bylines are required by law).

The bylines generated by that plugin are indeed picked up at the end of the captions generated by WordPress and the theme we are using, but they are not included at the end of the captions generated by the FSM Custom Featured Image Caption plugin, however.

Is there any way to currently make these two plugins play nice together?

If not, please consider looking into adding that functionality at your earliest convenience. (And if you would prefer stripping the bylines of all HTML before adding them at the end of your captions, then please also consider an option to not strip the HTML.)

    Thank you.

    Sorry for the late response.

Yes, the problem is that when you specify a custom caption, it replaces whatever it was before, including the bylines. We have no plans to support this specific plugin, but in a future version we will probably add aditional filter hooks, so (with some minimal programming) you may add additional content to the caption (i.e. re-adding the bylines credit line if that’s possible)
