Problem with Photon

Thanks for the quick response.

I setup a test here, you see one of the images is broken at the moment. https://testinstall.slickremix.com/fts/

All I did was install jetpack and activate photon. Then activate our plugin and add the shortcode for the facebook feed you see on the page.

The image url is coming from our plugins API call to facebook to fetch the image URL. The img src url was rewritten to this when jetpack with photon is active, breaking the image.

Do you have access to the image? What happens when you deactivate Photon? What’s the image URL used in the Facebook feed?

Here is the original image link that was there for about 30 minutes or so, then I’m guessing photon tried to cache it.

If I deactivate photon then the photo will show proper.

Oh, I see. The image is only valid when using the URL parameters. Photon, on the other hand, only uses the image itself, and removes those URL parameters.

To solve this issue, you could use the jetpack_photon_skip_image filter to exclude all images from Facebook’s CDN from Photon, like so:

        if ( strpos( $src, 'fbcdn.net' ) ) {
                return true;
        }
        return $val;
}
add_filter( 'jetpack_photon_skip_image', 'my_photon_exception', 10, 3 );

Wondering if you can assist me one more time please. I have our functions setup as a class so I need to alter the add_filter slightly to work but in some cases I am getting…

call_user_func_array() expects parameter 1 to be a valid callback, array must have exactly two members

What am I doing wrong here? $this refers to our class.

Ah you know what I found a solution. I had the ) out of place…

should be
add_filter( ‘jetpack_photon_skip_image’, array($this, ‘fts_jetpack_photon_exception’), 10, 3);

instead of
add_filter( ‘jetpack_photon_skip_image’, array($this, ‘fts_jetpack_photon_exception’, 10, 3));
