• So I log onto the computer today and my main page shows no posts specified on the main page. I am using WP 2.8 (I only now saw the update notice for 2.8.5) and everything was working fine when I went to sleep last night (e.g. I haven’t changed anything on the site).

    I go into the admin panel and all of my posts have disappeared except for drafts which are still showing up. But there is zero data showing under posts.

    Even odder, I can navigate to the articles through other links on the site. For example, if I get to one of the article archive pages such as

    https://www.bodyrecomposition.com/category/fat-loss/fat-loss-fundamentals

    I can see the articles and get to them. So the post data is still in the database, it’s just not being recognized by

    I’m not sure what the problem is or what to do about it.

    Thank you for any help you can provide,
    Lyle

  • Try resetting your custom permalinks to the default setting. If that works, then set your custom permalink structure back up again.

    delete the wordpress .htaccess
    regenerate permalinks
    admin – settings – permalinks

    Esmi: Tried it, didn’t work. Thank you.

    Samboll: Ok, maybe this is part of the issue but I can’t find an .htaccess file in the root directory. I’d note that, from yesterday to today I didn’t change anything on the site so I’m not sure why that file (if it had been there) would have disappeared.

    Thanks

    Also, I found .htaccess, deleted it, did what I think regenerated the permalinks (.htaccess was recreated).

    Still no joy. Admin panel shows the following

    * All (236) |
    * Published (223) |
    * Drafts (13)

    Search Posts:

    No posts found

    ***
    the post data is still on the site (accessible through other means) but admin panel can’t ‘see’ it

    thanks for any help

    Have you tried switching to the default theme and/or deactivating all plugins?
