Problem with "Read More" and Sub-directory install?

Hello,
I have WordPress installed in a subdirectory (../wordpress) and have my site address pointing to the root and per the codex suggested. Everything works fine except clicking “read more” does not pop-up. It brings me to the top of the page.
Hopefully you can provide a solution… I worked hard setting up that catalog!
