Problem with shortcode output in short description field.

Hey folks – we have a plugin that we’ve been working on which I’m pretty excited about & while I don’t want to get too specific about it just yet, the plugin displays its output through the use of 2 shortcodes. The first shortcode provides an input field for the public user & the second displays the generated output based on the website owner’s setup of that plugin instance.
Because of the nature of the plugin, it’s understood by us that end users will probably want to use it on Woo products on their website & it works perfectly in the long description field but the output breaks in the short description section.
What research I’ve done has turned up solutions specific to the plugin that the OP was asking about but nothing specific to why a shortcode may not function correctly in the short description section in general.
Thoughts?
