Problem with slider image

Thanks for this useful theme. I’m helping a friend out with a food blog and am new to WordPress and this theme (used to using Drupal).

The only thing I can’t seem to figure out is a slight issue with the appearance of the slider images. I’ve made 2 posts and set the featuredd images, and while they look good, right before they are about to automatically change, the images slightly resize before morphing into the other image. This is a small issue but it definitely is noticeable and I’d like to get rid of this.

Figuring it had to do with the resolution, I measured that space and saw it is 600×300, so i made featured images just that size. Still having the same problem. Do you have any suggestions? Any help is greatly appreciated.
