I recently started seeing the following error. I’m not sure what to do.

There’s a problem with the provided?server key. This needs to be resolved before you can import the data.?

Error message: This IP, site or mobile application is not authorized to use this API key. Request received from IP address fda3:e722:ac3:10:9f:ebfa:a80:16, with empty referer.

Make sure the IP address mentioned in the error matches with the IP set as the referrer for the server API key in the Google API Console.

  • Hi there, thanks for reaching out.

This issue is very common in many hosting providers. As it turns out, the machine where your website is hosted can have multiple IP addresses, and one of them is in IPv6 format (fda3:e722:ac3:10:9f:ebfa:a80:16), even if this is not the address you are familiar with and where you are pointing your domain, which will probably be an address in IPv4 format.

The only thing you have to do is go to your Google Cloud Console platform and add this IP in the list of allowed IPs in the application restrictions screen for the server API key, and you will be good to go.

Get back to us if you still have issues, though,
    Regards,
