    Hello.
Using the search widget, I type a string used in 2 posts but the search results page is the same as the post entry from the most recent post found, i.e., instead of showing a page where I can choose what post I want to see, I get the most recent post page.

I know there’s a way to customize the search results page, but I think I’m doing something wrong because I don’t even see all the results.

Could you tell me how to solve this?

    Thanks in advance!

  • Hello alberto.pm9

To customize the search result page you need to customize the search.php file that is the file which is responsible for search result.

    Kind regards,

    Hi Manoj.
    Thanks for your reply!
I want to customize my search results so I think you are right about search.php file.
But first of all I want the search results page to show me all the posts matching the search criteria and now I only can see the most recently one, not all of them.

How can I do to get all the posts matching the search criteria in my search results page, instead of get the most recent post page that match?

    Regards.

Can you link me to the page and let me know what to search possibly?

    Thanks!

    Hi Tom.
    Thanks for your reply!

I’m working in a personal site and I’m developing in localhost. In fact, I’m actually testing the GeneratePress theme and a colleague has allowed me to test GP-Premium before I buy it. I’m not going to upload the site before buying the premium.

It’s an old version (1.2.79) and I think the problem with the search results page is with Sections add-on. If I disable it, I can get all the posts matching the term I’m looking for. And if it’s enabled then I get the page with the information of the most recently post that matches the term.

I suppose in new versions this issue is solved, so I guess when I buy the premium version everything will be working fine.

    Thanks!

That’s very strange – if you continue to have the issue and can get it up on a live server I would love to take a look.

    Thanks!

    Hi Tom.
Sure!, once I’ve uploaded the site, if the issue continues I’ll be happy if you have a look at it.

    Thanks a lot!

    Hi Tom.
Finally I’ve bought the Premium version and it seems everything it’s working fine in the search results page.

Maybe there was some kind of issue with version 1.2.79…

Congrats for this awesome theme and Add-ons!
