I’m using <!–more–> tags inside my posts. I would like to see the content of the post until this tag inside the Google search. But I see more text there.

The <meta property=”og:description” …> tag inside the published HTML code shows the text, which is shown at Google search.

But why don’t cut Yoast the text not at the <!–more–> tag? The WordPress Search and the post lists cuts the text as well at the <!–more–> tag…

  • Hi,

You identified several issues. We have responded to them below.

    1. Og:Description
We are not able to reproduce this. When we add that read more tag, it does not appear in the source code for the og:description

    Backend: https://pasteboard.co/IfJOZdU.png

Source code (no read more appears): https://pasteboard.co/IfJP6JR.png

We would like some more information.

    1. Can you confirm you are using the most recent Yoast SEO, v11.2.1? If you update, does the issue resolve?

    2. Are all your non-Yoast plugins and themes also updated?

    3. Can you confirm you are using WordPress 5.2? You can check by clicking on the W in the top left and selecting About. If you need to update, please check with your host provider.?Please know that if you are using an older version of WordPress Core you may experience unexpected behavior with Yoast.?This guide explains more:?https://yoast.com/why-we-dont-support-old-wordpress-versions/.

    4. Can you provide a URL that highlights this issue?

    B. I would like to see the content of the post until this tag inside the Google search.
Can you provide a URL that highlights the read more tag appearing in a Google Search?

You are right: I still use WordPress 4.9.

But now I found a solution for me with your filters.

    Thank you for reply…
