Problem with theme & plugin installer

  • I recently created a new site on WP 3 and I am having a problem with the theme and plugin installer. When I click “install now” the screen says downloading install package from whatever file and then it just stops. I’m not even getting an error message. I have also tried ftp. This works to install the theme or plugin, but when I activate it I get an internal server error. Any thoughts?

    Internal server errors are usually described in more detail in the server error log. If you have access to your server error log, generate the error again, note the date and time, then immediately check your server error log for anything useful. If you don’t have access to your server error log, ask your hosting provider to look for you.
