• Hi supporters.

I have a problem with ticket end dates regarding recurring events. Either I don’t understand the function properly – or there is a kind of bug in the free version of Events Manager. I will try to explain what is happening. My version is translated to Danish, but I hope I can write the right terms.

I create a new weekly recurring event. Lets say the event starts every Monday at 16.00. I have 3 tickets for that event and I want to close registering at 12.00 the same day as the event occurs, for all ticket types.

So I set the end date for the recurring event to: 0 – days before the event starts – at 12.00. As I understand the Danish translation this then should count for all tickets. But already at the moment I publish the event, the end time setting “bounces” back to default and the end time becomes 16.00 – the start time of the event. This counts for every event in the recurring cycle.

Isn’t it supposed to keep that setting and be a global setting for all tickets for that event??

A workaround is: I set the same end time to 12.00. Then I go to all 3 tickets and set the same end time for them. The “global” end time for the event still returns to the start time at 16.00 – but the individual tickets remains at 12.00 – so it actually works, but opposite what it is supposed to, if I understand the explanation correct. Isn’t the global event end time supposed to override the time set for individual tickets? Instead of the opposite scenario?

Hope this makes sense in English, else please ask for further details.
And I hope you can regenerate this issue – if not I either misunderstand the function or it’s only related to my installation. Which by the way is pretty much out of the box, no altering of any plugin files and also updated to latest version.

    Thanks and regards
    Thomas

Just to confirm, did you mean that after posting the event the ticket availability end date reverts to 16:00 which is your recurring event end time? I tried this on our test servers and unable to replicate this.

Yes, almost. When I setup the event which starts (not ends) at 16.00, I set the ticket availability end time for the whole event to 0 days before – at 12.00. I don’t touch the single ticket availability dates. So as I understand, the availability end time should be 12.00 for all tickets?

In this scenario, when I publish the event, the ticket availability date bounces back to 16.00. If I now change it to 12.00 again, the same think happens when i update the event.

So my workaround is to set every ticket to availability end at 12.00. The “global” availability still stays at 16.00 but I tested and the ticket becomes unavailable at 12.00, despite that the “global” availability setting for the event should overrule that. If I understand the description correct.

Hope that will clarify the problem, I can see now that I wrote “event end time” by mistake in my description, that should have been event start time.. Sorry for that.

    Hi,

Have you tried the latest EM Dev versions 5.9.8.2? Also, do you have a sample screenshot of your recurring event details to help us replicate this? At the moment, I’m unable to replicate this and it seems fine.
