Problem with Visual Composer plugin

Hello,

I’m new to WordPress and recently purchased the 3.5 version of Visual Composer from WPBakery. I had 3.4.12 built into a theme already and wanted to upgrade it.

Anyways, in order to install new version, I have to deactivate the old version. I go to plug-ins, hit the deactivate button, and it says that “it’s deactivated” however, it’s still active. Because it’s active, I cannot delete it and install the new version.

Any ideas on how to get around this?
