Problem with Visual Editor

  • I am using version 2.9.2, I just installed it today. When I go to “edit post”, I cannot see any of the text. If I highlight it, I can see that it’s there and the text shows up fine on the live site. But in the editor, the text is obviously white and so it can’t be seen. There are only 14 buttons above the text box and there is no option for font color. I tried downloading TinyMCE Advanced from https://www.laptoptips.ca/projects/tinymce-advanced/ and it shows up in plug-ins, it shows that it is active, I can go under settings and choose the options – but when I go to “edit post” it is not there. I’m pulling my hair out here. I hope someone can help me!!

    I am using FireFox 3.6.3 and Windows XP. I tried opening wordpress in IE also and it’s exactly the same.

  • – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem? If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems?

    – resetting the plugins folder by FTP or phpMyAdmin? Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    – re-uploading the wp-admin and wp-includes folders from a fresh download of WordPress?

    – increasing the available memory?

    I tried every thing you suggested – nothing worked. So I completely deleted everything from my site – every singe file and deleted the database. I then created a new database, went to www.ads-software.com and downloaded a FRESH install of wordpress, uploaded the NEW installation, installed it again – SAME EXACT PROBLEM.

    I have another wordpress blog that I created about a month ago and when I login to that one – it works fine.

    If you go go “edit post” (I haven’t even touched anything, it still says Hello World!) you will see that you can type anywhere on that page (in the other text blocks) and the type is black. But the text in the post box is white (it is there, you just can’t see it unless you mouse over it to highlight it).

    Are both sites on the same server (and I do mean “server” as opposed to being with the same host)?

    I just checked it and it is working correctly. Does anyone know how it got fixed?
