Our site has developed a strange issue whereby it is not applying postage intermittently, in fact it is even subtracting postage. An orders postage value is typically £20 yet sometimes it shows as there being no postage, but then also deletes £10 from the total. We are using dotstore flat rate shipping for postage, however i’m not 100% convinced if it is due to that plugin specifically.

After lots of testing something I have found is that the error seems to occur when you go to checkout and the delivery address is autofilled. In this case it shows as zero postage. Now, if I even delete 1 digit from the postcode it refreshes and postage is shown.

If I enter checkout from a private browser with no fields autocompleted postage shows.

This seems to point to an issue with the form communicating with shipping. This started yesterday and the only thing that had changed was a wordpress autoupdate. We rolled that back to the previous version in the hope that would fix things. Has anyone else come across something like this who may be able to help please?

Update, I have added some code to functions to disable autofill in the address fields and that seems to have bypassed the issue. Its really only a temporary measure though and i’d like to find out the actual reason for this still.

    Hello @stevebullman,

    Thank you for reaching out!

Just to confirm, some of your WooCommerce orders are being processed with a shipping fee, correct?

By default, you can’t generate an order with an assigned shipping method, you’ll get a message like this:

Have you tried disabling the Dotstore flat shipping rate plugin and placing a test order using a regular flat shipping rate? Does the same issue occur?

Could you also attach a copy of your site’s System Status report? You can find it via WooCommerce > Status. Select “Get system report” and then “Copy for support” (after you scroll down a bit)”. Once done, please paste it here in your reply or via a text-sharing service like https://gist.github.com/.

Look forward to hearing back from you.
