Problem with WPSEO by Yoast and WPZOOM theme

    I have a blog and I installed WPSEO plugin by Yoast.
    My blog theme is Bonpress by WPZOOM.
    WPSEO dashboard get this a error message :
    Your theme contains a meta description, which blocks WordPress SEO from working properly, please delete the following line, or press fix it:
    <meta name=”description” content=”<?php echo strip_tags(get_the_excerpt()); ?>” />

    I had the same message with version 3.4.2 of WordPress.

    I tried to erase this lign in two files :
    – header.php
    – header.php.wpseobak

    But nothing change…

  • Have you tried disabling the built in themeSEO options in the theme admin panel
    I was not able to replicate the error – with the theme SEO options enabled, I got duplicate meta descriptions, but no error message. With theme SEO options disabled the plugin worked fine.

    I think you also need to select “Force rewrite titles” in Yoast SEO plugin – General settings or you may not get the meta title generated correctly from WordPress SEO

    (Testing System: WP3.5 on localhost Xamp install)
