Problem with Yahoo Web Hosting

  • My site is hosted by Yahoo since 2003 and it is always fine until Yahoo started hosting WordPress as well few months ago.

    Simply my blog which is using wordpress as platform has been down few times a week, few hours each time for the past few months, while the rest of my site ( non-wordpress) is running smooth and loading quick.

    The frustration is, they now are very slow to reply any email, it takes at least a day to 3 days for them to make a “copy and paste” response. Sometimes, they dun even write back. By the time they response, they would usually say everything is fine, they cant find the issue I was talking about.

    However, it is obviously to show a problem with the database connection.

    I have recommended all my friends to use Yahoo hosting for years and now I feel like a fool. Well, I just got a feedback of them:

    What should I do?

    PS I phoned them as well but once I mentioned it is the connection problem with the database, they just said they cant help me over the phone abt any MySQL related issue..

    well finally they reply after few days and here is the msg :

    We have tried reproducing the problem you described, but were unable to
    reproduce it.

    Yeah – Yahoo webhosting is the worst wehbosting I have ever had to deal with! Their customer support is abysmal.

    They are pushing this “use Yahoo webhosting with your blog” but their webhosting service actually seems to conflict with WordPress and they deny it and provide absolutely no technical support for people hosting blogs at Yahoo.

    Everytime I try to call I wait for hours on the phone and get transferred to four different people and then hung up upon.

    I have never been so frustrated with a webhosting company before. If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know!

    I have been with Yahoo for two weeks and they are AWFUL.

    The Yahoo line is “Focus on posting to your blog, not managing it. Let Yahoo! Web Hosting and
    WordPress take the pain out of blog hosting and administration so you can
    concentrate on what matters most: your message and your audience”.

    So far I have had to reinstall wordpress once, the mysql database stopped working and then restarted by itself and every time I contact Yahoo the line is:

    1. We say things that are polite but we would rather be rude.
    2. We do not support wordpress.
    3. We cant talk about mysql problems so please email us.
    4. We do not care and our system is very good.

    Any recommendations for an alternative host, offering 24 hour support would be much appreciated. Am happy to pay for a decent service. Am not an expert.
