Hi. I am getting the following error on my jetpack when in the WP admin dashboard:

“There seems to be a problem with your connection to WordPress.com. If the problem persists, try reconnecting.”

I’ve tried many of the recommended solutions such as: Restoring the connection, disconnecting/reconnecting, turning off all plugins except woocommerce & jetpack, clearing cache, verifying the install via the jetpack debugger site, removing jetpack plugin and reinstalling.

Also my woocommerce mobile app has stopped connecting because somehow it needs jetpack to work.

    Please help.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Well when viewing jetpack on Pc, its still shows the reconnecting error but the application works fine on Android.

@bilawalsarfraz yeah? Have you narrowed it down to anywhere in particular? I’ve ran every test I can think of.

Also WordPress 5.5 added some new features just like you have set same post limit size and max upload size. But Why you cant test it by cloning your website into local host and test jetpack on it. This method is safe and your original hosted site remains the same.

Working with a new machine now, the last one died ?? Going to set up a test instance locally with Xampp and one on the web too.

Well dont worry, just try it on local host (xampp). The Android app is working fine. I hope the Jetpack Team will fix it soon. ????????

This is the only report of this issue, and we cannot produce it, so currently there is nothing for us to fix.

Would you please verify that the issue still occurs under WordPress 5.5, Jetpack 8.8.2, the Twenty Twenty theme, and with Jetpack as the _only_ active plugin?

Also, to be clear, some overzealous ad/tracker blockers have accidentally nuked our settings page before. Make sure that when you checked with all browser extensions disabled that it was with _all_ browser extensions disabled.

I’m experiencing the same thing as bila and Kumi

The “my plan” box on my admin section of the site just pulses white/grey and the aforementioned reconnect message is still up above.

    .

I can’t get past that point and it’s pretty frustrating.

Well its really frustrating, even its working fine in Android app then why its shows the reconnecting error on Website. Well i think this error belongs to nothing. Even jetpack working on your website but i dont know why its shows the error even it is working.

I understand it’s frustrating, but again we can’t reproduce the problem, and we can’t fix something that we don’t see, so we need as much detail as possible.

I can confirm that upgrading to WP 5.5 did not fix the jetpack problem for us. I tried deactivating/uninstalling jp, clearing cache, re-installing… same issue.

    Confirmed, problem solved.

My child theme’s functions.php file had some extra code for added features. They all used to work but one of them stopped working with an update of jetpack. I commented them out one by one and found the culprit. Everything works now via a browser and the WC mobile app connects again now too. Thanks all for your help, and thank you James for the theme tip. You can close this one out!
