Problems adding attributes to exisitng product

Every time I try to add a attribute to a variable product I get both the blue hour circle and a larger black one which turn go round and round as if its getting stuck somewhere.

I have just updated to latest woocommerce though it happened before in the older version too.

Can anyone advise me what this issue might be ??
