Problems After Upgrading to 1.2.17

    Hello,

    I’ve played with many “author box” plugins over the last six months, and MA was just what I was looking for. I’m using your plugin for a site I’m converting to WordPress. I was planning to go live soon, but the 1.2.17 release of the plugin has caused me some problems, which I’ll enumerate below. For reference, here’s the information about my site:

    Theme: Divi 2.7.3

    1. My first problem seems similar to the one reported by PanoGraph a few days ago. When I click an author’s name on a post I either receive a “No Results Found” error, or I receive fewer results than I had previous to installing the update. The reason I believe the problem is in MA is that if I disable the plugin, I get the correct results. One link that currently produces no results in MA is as follows, despite the fact this author has seven articles:

    FWIW, I’m also using the “Edit Author Slug”. I wonder if there could be some interaction between that plugin and yours?

    2. This is not really a bug, but I want to bring it to your attention. It concerns the changelog item “Author blog’s link removed from author name’s and placed into a stand alone link named “Blog”. I much preferred the old appearance. The reason is the posts on this site are really not part of a “blog”. Most of them originated as articles published in our hardcopy newsletter, some going back decades … so the term blog is really not accurate here. Would it be possible for you to put an option in the MA settings that would enable the old appearance and behavior?

    Hello Gillman,

    we have found the bug causing the issue you point out on first place and we will be releasing an update in a few hours.

    About the change we made on the behavior of author name’s link, we have planned to add an option to allow you to change the label of the link, so instead of “Blog”, it will display whatever you set. Hopefully, you will like this solution.

    Thank you very much for the quick response. Your solution to the “Blog” label should work very nicely. I found one more issue related to the author’s photo which I’ll post separately.

    Hello Gillman,

    the issue has been fixed on version 1.2.18.

    The option to edit labels will come in a next update. Meanwhile, if you don’t want the “Blog” link to appear, you can just empty the field “Author link” from the author profile, so no link will appear. Another option would be to go back to version 1.2.16.
