I’m trying to change the display order of my categories. In the WooCommerce Category admin when you hover over the category name the cursor changes to the “drag” icon and it looks like the category is dragging however it fails to snap into it’s new spot.
I’m I missing something here? Is there a setting I need to make to allow this? Or is this a WooCommerce bug?

Just to be clear I’m talking about “Product Categories”.

Snapping into place normally just works, there is no setting to make it work. Its unlikely to be a WooCommerce bug because there haven’t been other reports on here about this.

Try deactivating all other plugins. Does it work now? Reactivate plugins one-by-one to find out which one is causing the conflict.

The re-ordering of categories in Admin is usually for admin purposes only. If you’re not seeing that same order on the front end, it likely means that your theme has a hard-coded orderby property when calling the categories.

FYI I figured out what was wrong. Simple mistake.
I have many sub-categories and I was inadvertently trying to drag and uperlevel category within a the subcategories of another upperlevel cat.
Once I realized that I could easily drag to order the upper levels and the within each of these order the sub categories.
