    Hi,

Thought I’d try this plugin out in preference to Autoptimize for minifying JS and CSS.

Seemed to be working fine, but just today I was alerted by some users that they were unable to view galleries.

Going over to an incognito page, sure enough I found this to be dead true – all the galleries had disappeared. On disabling FVM and relaunching the incognito window, they had all come back.

For info – I’m using the Total WordPress theme by WPExplorer with the following FVM settings:

All as default except for Fix Page Editors, Inline Google Fonts, Inline all Header CSS Files, Inline all Footer CSS Files, and Enable Defer of JS for Pagespeed Insights all being checked.

Using these settings, my pagespeed score had rocketed, but if users cannot see the content, it all seems a bit pointless.

So what am I doing wrong?

*Edit** Following up on the above issue, we still found that FVM was causing problems with certain browsers even after resetting them back to default. Getting in touch with my webhost, they changed the FVM filename to something different, effectively binning the plugin completely. This last option worked perfectly but it would still be nice to work out why FVM is so twitchy and temperamental!

    Hi,

Kindly read the faqs here: https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/fast-velocity-minify/#faq

Sometimes javascript or css files conflict when merged together.
You need to try to find out which file is causing the galeries from working, by adding them to the ignore list.

Try to follow the instructions I provided here: https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/problem-js-with-layerslider-plugin/

You can disable the fix page editors for testing, so you can preview real time how it looks. Or you can launch in incognito mode, or you can use another browser such as firefox, Opera, or whatever for testing.

Try to disable html, css or js processing first, to determine which section is breaking it. Then, try to disable minification and purge the cache.
Finally, try by adding all files to the ignore list and deleting one by one, until you find which one should be ignored.

Kindly report back which file caused the error, if you find it.

    Thanks.

Yeah, I might do that at some stage, but I think I’ll stick with Autoptimize for now.

    Thanks anyway!
