problems going live with wordpress site (with old site still active)

    over the past months i have been adding content to wordpress installed on my server. The old site is also there (used dreamweaver/ fpt etc)

    I have had problems trying to preview wordpress, however themify (who supply theme) said it was because index.htm is also thier. Very quickly i remove the index.htm and do see the homepage however any sub page clicks result in a 404.

    I want to know how to remove the old site/ see all the new site?

    Just to throw an extra spanner in the works the themify theme has a problem with its css.

  • Try resetting your custom permalinks back to the default setting via Settings -> Permalinks. If this works, then review Using_Permalinks before setting a custom permalink structure back up again.

    Yes that has worked, however really want custom structure for better SEO. Looked at the link but it looks very technical (server side) to sort.
