Problems: Importing XML to Techozoic Fluid Theme

I love this design, but I’m having some trouble converting the XML from my free WP blog to a new self-hosted WP blog running Techozoic Fluid theme. I’m having problems with the actual main title permalinks from each post appearing (They’re just not showing up when I import the XML file) and I’m wondering how to choose exactly what pages I can link to w/ out having each page appear at the very top on the link bar. Any help would be appreciated.
