• Hi,

we use the PayPal Plugin in combination with the plugin woocommerce subscriptions and buy once or subscribe. With the latest update all products are automatically changed to sold individually, because they can be purchased as a subscription. I found the corresponding lines in the plugin that changed the product settings and commented them out, but I’m unsure about possible side effects. I saw in the code that you also check that subscription products cannot be combined in the checkout and I think that should be enough. Nevertheless, it seems that Paypal is now grayed out even with only one subscription item in the cart.

I think that only at the checkout process the plugin should validate if it can process the purchase and give a notice if not.

    Hello @dermartin85

Thanks for reaching out to us, we’re here to help.

Before we proceed, could you please share your system report with us? We’d like to verify the subscription mode you’re using with our plugin, as this could affect the situation differently depending on your specific setup.

You can get it by navigating to the?WooCommerce / Status?section of your site. Once there, click on the?Get system report?button and then copy it by clicking on the?Copy for support?button.

Please provide those log entries on our PrivateBin. After uploading, paste here the link, so we can review them in detail.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

    Kind regards,
    Krystian

I would like to join this thread as I have the exact same problem.
I sell subscriptions that are not recurring, but end after a year, and users can renew them when they want. I use vaulting, which is approved by paypal.
I have also activated the option in the Woocommerce Subscription settings that you can have several products in a shopping cart at the same time.

Suddenly one of my products can only be added to the cart once and no other products can be added to the cart. When I try it, the product is set in the inventory tab to limit sales to 1 item per order (the option “_sold_individually” is then automatically set to checked). I’ve spent hours trying different settings but it doesn’t help, so I think it’s the same bug as mentioned in this thread.

    Hello @dermartin85

Update regarding your issue after further testing.

It seems that this issue might be related to the way your products were initially set up under the “PayPal Subscriptions” mode, which does not allow adding other non-subscription products to the cart if a subscription product is already included. Switching to “PayPal Vaulting” should ideally remove this limitation, but it appears the plugin logic may still be incorrectly enforcing the restrictions from the previous setup.

Here’s a workaround that could potentially resolve this issue:

    1. Switch the subscription mode back to “PayPal Subscriptions”.
    2. Remove the assigned plan from the affected products?(check them all 1 by 1)
    3. Switch back to “PayPal Vaulting” mode.

Here’s a recording how to do that properly: https://f005.backblazeb2.com/file/Inpsyde/upload/2024/06/chrome_C2zXkX5oQA.gif

This process should clear any residual settings that are causing the current problem, allowing you to add multiple products to the cart as intended.

Please try these steps and let me know how it works out. We’ve created an issue for this problem, so it should be addressed soon, but I can’t guarantee that it will be resolved in the next release.

    Kind Regards,

    Krystian

    Hello @pixefora

I highly doubt that you’re experiencing the same issue, as that problem has already been resolved. It’s likely something different in your case. Please create a new thread with all the specific details about your issue, and we’ll be happy to help sort it out.

Thank you in advance for your cooperation!

    Kind Regards,
    Krystian
