• I have just upgraded to 3.5.1 and also upgraded my theme and plugins. Since doing this I am unable to do the following when writing/editing a post

    toggle between html and visual
    Add tags
    View suggested tags
    Add category
Add an image to my post

When I click on those links – which appear to be live – nothing happens

    Any ideas please

  • I have had the same problem, all of the sudden it changes to a weird = editing mode which doesn’t actually operate at all. Clicking on any button simply doesn’t work and most tools are unavailable – nothing registers at all – therefore there is no way of editing my website.

What is the remedy for this?

Sounds similar to mine. Lets hope we get a resolution soon

@jamiethomsonmoa: As per the Forum Welcome, please post your own topic. Posting in an existing topic prevents us from being able to track issues by topic. Added to which, your problem – despite any similarity in symptoms – is likely to be completely different.

    @ljmatt100: Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    – re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder – from a fresh download of WordPress. Make sure that you delete the old copies of files & folder before uploading the new ones.

Thank you esme – sounds complicated but I will give it a try. So I am assuming you don’t think it was anything to do with the wordpress upgrade??

Not sure I am up to the FTP bit but will try the other things first

It could be that your current theme/and or one of your plugins is incompatible with WordPress 3.5. It’s also not unknown for an upgrade to result in 1 or more or more corrupted core files. The steps I gave above are designed to try and hone in on the likely culprit

Ok I have now identified the culprit is was SEO Clickbump.

The only thing I now seem unable to do is to insert an image into my text. When I click on the icon in CKeditor it only gives me the option to add the url of an image and not any of the images I have uploaded to my blog

This could be an issue with the CKeditor plugin. What happens if you try using the core Add Media functionality?

Yes that works – so maybe I need to go into the original editor each time I add an image

    Many thanks for your help

    No problem ??

@ esmi – i posted within ljmatt100’s post to receive notifications for fixing this problem as well as posting a new query of my own. This diagnosis may solve my problem, which I am about to try. Thanks for the advice directed to ljmatt100 all the same!
