Problems installing update

    Alright I’m new at this… had never installed an update.. never backed up before (now I realize this is dumb but there it is…) I downloaded a zip file of all my site files from my hosting service. I also downloaded a plugin to backup my wordpress files… like my posts etc. I believe? I clicked the automatic update button and now I can’t even log in to my wordpress account. I got a message that it’s briefly unavailable due to scheduled maintenance. Now it’s finally up again with a message that it failed to update.

    The reason I was needing to update is that my site was reportedly looking all wonky to someone in IE. I looked at it from IE and found the same problem. Lines going through the page, etc. ACK! Help!

    https://housewifehacks.com don’t know if it was a temporary issue or what the deal is. Any help would be much appreciated.

    don’t upgrade your site, if you never dealth with the process before.
