    Hi Guys.

    I’ve just spent several hours trying to upgrade my older version of wordpress to the latest version. Eventually it worked, but it seemed to get rid of most of the data in the database at the same time, finally got that sorted by importing the backup copy. BUT, now I can’t login at all.

    I decided to just request a new password, but the site won’t recognise my username or any of the email addresses I normally use.

    PLEASE, I’m now at my wit’s end trying to find out who on earth I am, so that I can request a new password.

  • Hi,

    Check with these options:

    -> Reset the password from database.
    -> disable all the plugins and have a check.
    -> Repair the database
    -> Upload wp-admin and wp-contents folder again with all the files and folders.

    Thanks,

    Shane G.

    Hi Shane

    Thanks for the input, it turned out that all the data hadn’t been imported into the new database I had to create from the backup – tried three times overnight to sort it out and evenutally did it again this evening and it worked …. phew! Now have ALL the data and the user details as well.

    Thanks

    Linda
