• Dear WP can someone give me so advice and suggestions on corrective action please. I’ve just finished writing my first WordPress site on ServerPress, and yesterday I uploaded what I thought was the correct files and database onto the host UK2.

Here’s what’s wrong. On my own home computer the site looks fine, with everything visible and functioning, apart from the email links in the contact page don’t seem to be going anywhere, plus when I type in the sites URL, it immediately loads up, but the dashboard bar and drop down menu automatically appears without me typing in the normal wp-admin extension on the URL.

Big problem is that when I try to open the site from another PC or mobile devise the site functionality and appearance is lost, I just see a list of pages and sections.

I’m well behind my deadlines now to get the site up, can anyone please help me? plus can you please keep you suggestions in very simple terminology because I am very new to this world…

    site is at https://www.eurobiketrans.co.uk

    Thanks so much T

  • Did you follow the instructions in Moving_WordPress?

I’m a total novice Esmi so not experienced enough to understand all that is contained in the instructions..

I’m sorry but there’s nothing else that we can offer here. If you cannot manage this yourself, you may want to consider hiring someone.

In the meantime, which part are you having a problem with?

OK Esmi, I thought you might be able to figure out what I have done wrong from my explanation and suggest a simple fix for me, but failing that I will have to ask the hosting company if they can correct for me. tks anyway, Tony

The first link I posted should contain the solution once you have checked which steps you forgot to take. I’m sorry but there really is nothing simpler I can suggest.

Can you go into some more detail regarding how you uploaded the files. It sounds like you developed it locally, and then went to push it to a host environment?

If you can delineate the steps you took and where it broke, that could help point out a culprit and next steps.
