• Afternoon, has anyone else had problems since updating to 3.8, I have had AddThis share buttons disappear and refuse to come back, now it would appear that I cannot upload images to me blog or ecommerce site. Not doing anything new to the images that wasnt being done before the update but now all I get is a broken image link icon.
Does anyone have any helpful suggestions in plain simple speak as I do not do code or behind the scenes stuff, I just write and post images.
Also would like to apologise for not following forum etiquette and joining another persons thread…I did not know this, sorry!

That’s a pretty wide list. Can you narrow it down to something a little more specific?

For example are you having problems with AddThis that you can reproduce? Or for your images problems (that may be simpler to fix) can you provide a link to a broken image?

It was an AddThis plugin (customised) and showed on all pages, both blog and product pages, it showed as being activated on the plugin page but was not visible on any pages but to be fair that is not my real concern, it was mentioned as further issues since I updated.
What is my main issue is the fat that I cannot upload new images, the images have been taken from my camera card, watermarked and reconfigured small enough for the site, the images show in their folder on my desktop, I can use the same images from the same folder on Facebook for example but as soon as I select the images to upload to my library the image appears as a broken link.
I have not published a blog page or product page with the broken images on, do you need me to do this?

It helps if you can provide one. Usually a broken image means it’s a 404 file not found but it could be something is handling that image and is tossing other errors. Having that example can possible narrow that down some.

Afraid I have to go out to the day job and as a driver I wont be able to check back until after 5.30ish this evening, just so you dont think I am ignoring you.

Thank you for looking into this for me.

Those images are returning 403 forbidden.

Visit your site with FTP. Navigate to wp-content and then select uploads/

Set file permissions 755 for directories and 644 for files. Both recursively.
