Problems upgrading from 1.5.1.1 to 2.1

  • I have a blog still at 1.5.1.1 and tried to upgrade to 2.1 following the instructions here:

    I got the following errors:

    failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /xx/tpbdot/wp-settings.php on line 100

    Fatal error: main(): Failed opening required ‘/xx/tpbdot/wp-includes/wp-db.php’ (include_path=’.:/usr/local/lib/php’) in /xx/tpbdot/wp-settings.php on line 100

    I tried downgrading back to 1.5.1.1 and forgot that when I was backing up my database that I had to change its password (I couldn’t find it at the time). So then I went back and changed the config file to the new password. Now I get “Error establishing a database connection”

    Should I change the db password back to what it was first? Any other suggestions?
