I have just changed servers and copied my site over to the new server. All seems ok, however, the background seems not to have been copied. I have tried uploading the background again but get this message

Warning: copy(/var/www/vhosts/mysite.co.uk/httpdocs/wp-content/uploads/2011/12/flowerBurst1.gif) [function.copy]: failed to open stream: Permission denied in /var/www/vhosts/mysite.co.uk/httpdocs/wp-admin/includes/file.php on line 348

    Any thoughts.

    Thanks

  • go to setting then media

make sure Store uploads in this folder is set to wp-content/uploads and Full URL path to files is blank.

also make sure wp-content/uploads is writable like 755

Thats all correct but no change.

I also note that when trying to upload a background image after saving its says the file had been loaded and in the media area there is a record of the image but no image is visible.

I get the same error when trying ti upload any media.

the error says permission denied check wp-content/uploads/2011/12 permission.

    Thanks

    755

The original gif is in its original space but for some reason it is not active as the backfround as it should be.

also i suggest search similar issue in your hosting provider forum. are you using virtual dedicated server? if you are using find how to set permission for apache at your host.

i know this is too much technical, you can foreword my query to your host for solution.

    Thanks

Ok I will check it out with them. They have a one click wordpress install so i would have thought it would be ok at their end and during an earlier switch over the background was fine but I had other issues so I reinstalled again. The earlier issue was the permalink not being ticked to default, but I only found that out after I reinsatlled.
