Problems when writing or editing a post

Just recently, when I try and write or edit a post on certain sites I own, the page keeps jumping to the top making it impossible to see what I am typing at the time. One forum answer said to change the Screen Option settings at the tope of the editing page, but that option does not appear on the sites I am talking about. Any thoughts? This is becoming very frustrating and time consuming.
